Turkey has become directly involved in the fight against the Islamic
State organisation, carrying out airstrikes against the group in
Syria.
The Prime Minister's office also says Turkish police have raided
properties in Istanbul, and more elsewhere in the country, arresting
more than 250 people with alleged links to the group, as well as some
involved in the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party or PKK.
Lorna Shaddick reports from Istanbul.
