LABOUR DIVIDED OVER LEADER

Britain's opposition Labour Party is showing growing signs of division as it attempts to choose a new leader after its resounding defeat in May's UK election.

Former cabinet minister David Milband, the brother of Labour's last leader Ed Miliband, has made his first intervention to warn the party away from a left-wing candidate.

Leftist MP Jeremy Corbyn leads some polling of Labour Party members who will choose the next leader.

But David Miliband says Labour needs more modern thinking if it is to be a viable party of government.
