US lawmakers pass Trade Promotion Authority bill

U.S. lawmakers have voted to give President Obama the negotiating power to resurrect a controversial 12-nation Pacific trade deal.

The so-called Trade Promotion Authority got through the House of Representatives 218-208- despite most Democrats opposing the deal.
