Fifa scandal deepens, American official admits bribes

A Former senior Fifa official has admitted taking bribes in conjuction with South Africa's 2010 World Cup bid.  American Chuck Blazer said he and other officials accepted bribes in newly released court documents.  These are  transcripts from a 2013 hearing in which he pleads guilty to 10 charges.

Last week US prosecutors indicted 14 people on charges of bribery, racketeering and money laundering estimated to be worth around $150 million. Four others had already been charged, including Mr Blazer.  The scandal forced the resignation of Sepp Blatter just days after he was reelected president.

In another development, former Fifa Vice-President Jack Warner, who has denied the charges against him,  bought television time in his home of Trinidad and Tobego to argue his case.

Mr Warner said he feared for his personal safety but would tell investigators what he knows about the alleged  corruption.
