At least nine are people dead as well as a number of animals who escaped from the city zoo after severe flooding hit the Georgian capital Tbilisi.
Heavy rainfall on Saturday night turned the Vere river, which flows through the city, into a deluge.
As well as the human deaths, animals including tigers, lions, bears, wolves and a hippopotamus were loose on the streets after the waters damaged their cages.
Some were tranquillised or killed but others were still on the loose into Sunday.
Tatiana Volynets (vol-i-NETS), a visiting businesswoman speaking from Tbilisi, says the damage is extensive.
