White House adament no ground troops against ISIS

The United States says it won't change strategy against the so-called Islamic State, despite continuing military advances by the group.  

ISIS is now reported to have taken the last border crossing between Iraq and Syria, allowing it to link up its forces across the region. This follows victories this week in taking Ramadi in Iraq and Palmyra in Syria.

But as John Clarke reports from Washington, President Obama is still refusing to commit more forces.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters that the United States did not believe it had to fight the Iraqis' battles for them:

Earnest said the fight against ISIS could take several years and require a multi-pronged approach.
