Teargas and rubber bullets used to stop attacks on foreigners in South Africa

Police in Johannesburg have used rubber bullets and stun grenades to prevent South African residents from attacking immigrant shop owners.

Five people have died and more than 80 people have been arrested since a new wave of attacks against foreigners started in the cities of Durban and Johannesburg.

The Chairperson of the African Union, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, has called the attacks unacceptable.
