Japanese military expected to expand role around the world

The Japanese military could expand its role around the world under new U.S./Japan defence guidelines that are expected to be released on Monday.

The revisions to the defence cooperation guidelines will be a centerpiece of Japanese Prime Minister's Shinzo Abe's visit to the U.S. this week and may cause unease in China.
