FBI Admits Decades of Mistakes on Forensic Analysis

The US Federal Bureau of Investigations has formally admitted that it's forensic unit was responsible for providing flawed evidence in hundreds of criminal cases.

The cases were based around faulty evidence of matching hair analysis.

Of the case reviewed so far, the FBI has admitting mistakes in 32 cases in which defendants were sentenced to death.

14 of those cases led to the defendant being executed or having died in prison.

Rosalie Bolin who's husband Oscar Ray Bolin is on death row says she is hoping the case will now be revisited.

At the White House, President Obama’s spokesman John Earnest said he was not aware of any contacts between the President and the Department of Justice over the FBI’s admission.
