Supreme court rules Charles letters should be published

The UK's highest court has ruled letters from Prince Charles to government departments should be published.

In 2012 the UK Attorney General prevented the publication of the letters, but the Guardian newspaper challenged the decision at the Supreme Court.

Heir to the throne Prince Charles wrote the letters between 2004 and 2005 to several ministries.

According to the British constitution, monarchs are supposed to be politically neutral.
