INVESTIGATORS EXAMINE GERMANWINGS BLACK BOX

Investigators are examining the black box recorder from the crashed Germanwings Airbus A320 which came down in the French Alps.

All 150 people on board the flight from Barcelona to Dusseldorf were killed.

French investigators are trying to work out why the plane went into an eight minute descent and then crashed.

Search and rescue teams are at the site of the disaster between Digne and Barcelonnette.

The majority of the victims are German and Spanish.

Air crash investigator Tony Cable says it's not necessarily surprising that communication didn't come from the plane as it descended.
