DAWN PROBE GOES INTO ORBIT AROUND DWARF PLANET

NASA's Dawn probe is due to go into orbit around dwarf planet Ceres (PRO: SERR - EES), which is between Mars and Jupiter.

The satellite will spend over a year mapping Ceres - the first dwarf planet to be visited by a spacecraft.

The probe took seven years to arrive and hopes to find information about the beginning of the Solar System.

Space expert Dr David Whitehouse says there are lots of questions about Ceres.
