Human rights organizations have condemned the flogging in Saudi Arabia of a human rights activist who was sentenced to 1 thousand lashes for "insulting Islam".
Raif Badawi's punishment began after Friday prayers in Jeddah.
In London, the British government joined growing international outrage over the sentence, as Simon Marks reports.
