Calls for continued support for Ebola fight

United Nations Secretary-General Ban says he is cautiously optimisic that the Ebola epidemic can be brought under control, and in a trip to the region, reiterated the UN's commitment to helping the people of Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.

But with the death of Sierre Leone's top doctor from the virus, many are reiterating that more resources are needed to stop the disease which has already killed 7300.

U.S. Senator Chris Coons, a Democrat from Delaware and chair of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations subcommittee on Africa, is in Liberia to see how American dollars are helping in the fight.
