Turkish airstrike complicates US talks on Islamic State

The reports that Turkey has conducted an airstrike against the Kurds has complicated the talks underway in Washington about battling the Islamic State fighters.

Turkey is part of NATO, while the Kurdistan Regional Government is staunchly pro-American and U.S. military advisers are based in Irbil, the regional capital.
