Rebels in Ukraine’s east defiant of self-status law; Poroshenko in North America

Pro-Russian rebels in Eastern Ukraine are defiant over a new law passed in Kiev, which grants regions in the country's east a special status and give them more rights to self rule.

Rebel leaders say the new law doesn't concern them, as they already see the territory they control as entirely independent from Ukraine.
