Mystery surrounds plane crash off Jamaica coast

An unresponsive plane that took off from New York has crashed just off the northwestern coast of Jamaica.

Fighter jets from the US and Cuba were scrambled to follow the small private plane after the pilot failed to respond to air traffic control.

The aircraft had been destined to land in Florida. It's not known exactly why it deviated from its course before crashing.

Our correspondent Steve Mort reports.
