US president Donald Trump has threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act to deploy troops to Minnesota in response to rising tensions between protesters and federal agents.
His warning came just hours after a man was shot and wounded by an immigration officer who had been attacked with a shovel and broom handle in Minneapolis.

A police chief in the UK is facing calls to resign, for the way they handled the banning of Israeli football fans from a European match last year.
A report found 'bias' in the decision to ban Maccabi Tel Aviv fans from attending the Aston Villa game in November. It also found the police 'overstated the threat' posed by the Israeli fans, whilst underplaying the risk they faced.
Chief Constable Craig Guildford, the head of West Midlands Police, has apologised and also blamed AI for giving incorrect information to MPs in a hearing after the decision was taken.
