President Trump Sues BBC

Donald Trump has filed a defamation lawsuit against the BBC, seeking $5 billion in damages.

It's related to the selective editing of one of his speeches, which the BBC admits gave "the mistaken impression" he had "made a direct call for violent action" ahead of the storming of the US Capitol in 2021.

The BBC has previously apologised, and the Director General and Head Of News both stepped down over the edited speech, that was shown in a Panorama documentary.
