U.S. President Donald Trump has warned Hamas to release Israeli hostages in Gaza or "it is OVER for you."

The threat issued on social media follows confirmation by the White House that U.S. officials engaged in direct talks with Hamas.

The militant group didn't immediately respond to President Trump's warning.
