PASSENGER JET CRASHES IN WASHINGTON DC

A jet carrying 60 passengers and four crew has collided with a military helicopter over Washington DC.

The flight from Wichita was coming into land at Ronald Reagan National Airport at about.

A search and rescue operation has been going on in the Potomac River, into which the plane crashed after the collision.

Matthew Cappucci from the Washington Post has an apartment overlooking the airport - he says there's been a huge emergency response.

Fatalities confirmed in Washington plane-helicopter crash

plane and military helicopter crashed at Ronald Reagan airport just

At this stage the number of deaths is not known.
