Trump pardons 1500 participants in Jan 6th riots
US President Donald Trump has pardoned around 1,500 people accused of criminal activity in the riots on Capitol Hill on January 6th 2021.
They include figures convicted of seditious conspiracy and acts of violence as they attempted to halt the certification of Joe Biden's election victory.

Donald Trump's supporters reacted with delight as he was sworn in as President for the second time.
The freezing temperatures in Washington DC meant the inauguration and subsequent address took place inside the US Capitol.
Plans were hastily changed to accommodate would-be spectators in a stadium in the city.

Donald Trump's been sworn in as the 47th President of the United States.
In his inaugural address he promised a 'golden age' for America. The wide ranging speech went on to heavily criticize the outgoing Biden administration, promised to overhaul global trade policies and vowed to 'forge a society that is colorblind and merit based'.

US faces coldest Inauguration Day in 40 years
Parts of the US are facing their coldest weather so far this year on Monday, with arctic air expected through much of the week.
