Israel's Defence Minister Yoav Gallant is in Washington DC for what he's describing as "critical" talks on the fighting in Gaza and escalating tensions on the border with Lebanon, exchanges of fire which are stoking fears of an all-out war.
This week he's meeting US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, CIA Director William Burns, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and President Joe Biden's national security adviser Jake Sullivan — this, Mr Gallant says, at "an important and impactful" time, with Israel fighting battles on several fronts.
