New study suggests climate change could mean declining malaria risk

A new study led by the British University of Leeds predicts that the hot and dry conditions brought about by climate change will lead to an overall decrease in areas suitable for malaria transmission from 2025 onwards.

UN General Assembly to vote on recognizing Palestine on Friday

The United Nations General Assembly will vote to recognize Palestine
as a U.N. member state on Friday.
However, the resolution that'll be voted on has been tapered down
following Israel's call for the United States to stop its funding to
the UN should Palestine be granted full membership.
This latest application to the General Assembly follows a failed bid
in the Security Council last month, when the United States vetoed a
resolution to recognise the Palestinian State.
