Israel marks one month since Hamas attacks

It's been one month since Hamas massacred more than 1,400 Israeli civilians, triggering a war in the Gaza Strip. Since then, Hamas says more than 10,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli air strikes, as residents brace themselves for a full incursion into the territory. Élysée Palace brings back changing of the guard ceremony after 27 years

The Élysée Palace in Paris, where the president lives and works, has brought back its public changing of the guard ceremony for the first time in 27 years.

Key regional polls begin in India

Millions are voting in two states as a key round of regional elections begin in India.

The central Indian state of Chhattisgarh and north eastern region of Mizoram are among the five states going to the polls this month.

These state elections will set the stage for the general elections next year with analysts saying the results could determine how the ruling and opposition parties will perform in 2024.
