Millions across U.S. brace for more severe weather

Millions of people across the southern United States are bracing for
more severe weather Monday.

Over the weekend at least one person died and dozens were injured
after a tornado touched down in Mississippi.

The third annual observance of Juneteenth takes place in the US today
(on Monday).
Juneteenth, now a federal holiday, commemorates the day when enslaved
people in Texas learned of their emancipation back in 1865.

Italian government limits Chinese state-owned firm's influence over Pirelli


The Italian government has blocked China's Sinochem from appointing the CEO of Pirelli.

State-owned Sinochem is the tyre manufacturer's biggest shareholder, holding 37 percent.

Pirelli is currently the official tyre supplier for Formula 1.

UK average mortgage rate hits 6%

UK MPs are debating a report on Monday which condemned Boris Johnson for misleading Parliament over Partygate.

The Privileges Committee concluded the former Prime Minister repeatedly misled lawmakers about lockdown parties in Downing Street.

Mr Johnson stepped down as an MP after seeing the report - insisting it was a witch hunt.

More than 90 killed as severe heatwave grips north India

As large parts of north India grapple with what officials are calling an 'extreme heatwave', nearly 100 people have died in two of India's most populous states.

Conservative MP's Face a Divisive Partygate Report Vote on Monday

Conservative Members of Parliament face a divisive vote on the Boris Johnson Partygate report on Monday. 


The vote in the House of Commons will see MP's vote on whether to approve the findings of the report, which has condemned the former Prime Minister for deliberately misleading Parliament over Covid rule breaking.

15 dead in Canada bus crash

At least 15 people have died in Canada after a bus taking elderly people to a casino crashed into a truck.


The incident happened in the Canadian prairie province of Manitoba on Thursday, two hours west of Winnipeg.


It's one of the most lethal road accidents in recent Canadian history.
