Italy's foreign minister cancels trip to Paris over "insults" by French minister


Italy's foreign minister Antonio Tajani has called off a trip to Paris at the last minute, accusing a French government minister of insulting his country.

In a radio interview, France's interior minister Gerald Darmanin said Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni was "unable to solve the migration problems on which she was elected."

He also accused her of "lying" to Italian voters.

ECB HIKES INTEREST RATES TO TAME STUBBORNLY HIGH INFLATION

The European Central Bank has hiked interest rates again in response to record inflation levels. 

The move, which was expected, comes as cost of living pressures continue to bite across much of Europe.

President Zelensky visits the Netherlands and the ICC

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has made an official visit to the Netherlands on Thursday for a meeting with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte.

The Ukrainian leader also went to the International Criminal Court in The Hague.

Trump says will probably attend rape trial

Atlanta shooter arrested

Police have arrested the person responsible for a deadly shooting in Atlanta.
A former U.S Coast Guard was taken into custody.
He allegedly killed one person and wounded four in the attack at a
medical building on Wednesday.
He later fled the scene.

ECB raises interest rates again but slows pace


The European Central Bank raised interest rates once again on Thursday, this time by 25 basis points to 3.25 percent.

The rate hike, though, represents a slower pace after three increases of 50 basis points in a row.

Rwanda Landslide Death Toll Rises to 130

At least 130 people have died after landslides hit the Western and Northern parts of Rwanda following heavy rains.

First Batch of Nigerian Evacuees From Sudan Arrive Abuja

Fed raises interest rates 0.25%

The US central bank has raised interest rates by a quarter percentage point - its 10th increase in 14 months.


But it could be its last hike for a while as the Federal Reserve tries to calm fears about the stability of banks and the broader economy.

Manhunt underway for Atlanta gunman

A manhunt is underway in the US city of Atlanta for a gunman who
opened fire in a medical center.

One person was killed in the attack and another four injured, three of
them critically.

Police have identified the suspect as 24-year-old Deion [PRON Day-on]
Patterson and say he fled the scene after carjacking a vehicle.

US stocks down after Fed rate hike

Ukraine denies Putin drone assassination

Russia has accused Ukraine of trying to assassinate President Vladimir
Putin with drones.

Moscow says it downed two drones that were flying over the Kremlin.

Texas massacre suspect apprehended, several others arrested for allegedly helping him hide

A Texas man accused of killing five of his neighbors - including a child - has been caught, after four days on the run. Police say they found Francisco Oropesa hiding in a closet Tuesday night.
