UN Secretary General calls Belafonte a "fearless campaigner for civil rights."

The United Nations Secretary-General has extended his condolences to the family of Harry Belafonte who has died at the age of 96.

The singer and actor turned activist was appointed a UNICEF goodwill ambassador in 1987.

American singer, actor and activist Harry Belafonte has died aged 96.


His spokesperson confirmed he died from heart failure at his home in Manhattan.

UNSG hopes Russia agrees to extend Grain Deal

The United Nations Secretary General, Antonio Guterres hopes he has
allayed the concerns raised by Russia in relation to the Black Sea
Grain Initiative.

France closes its embassy and evacuates over 500 people in Sudan

Mass evacuations are continuing in Sudan, as foreign countries move their citizens to safety.


France has confirmed it's evacuated at least 538 people, including 209 of its nationals.
