Trump to plead not guilty and no handcuffs, says lawyer

Donald Trump will "aggressively" challenge his historic indictment by a Manhattan grand jury when he appears in court next week, according to his lawyer.

He's set to become the first former US President to face criminal charges for his alleged role in a 2016 hush money payment to cover-up an affair with adult film star Stormy Daniels.

Whilst that payment was not illegal, prosecutors could accuse Mr Trump of falsifying business records, and potentially breaking election law, which would constitute a felony.
