Iran accuses Israel of conducting drone attack

Iran says preliminary evidence suggests that Israel was behind an
attack on a military factory.

The claim was reported by the ISNA news agency and the country's
United Nations Ambassador says the strike runs counter to
international law.

Jordan's King Abdullah meets Biden at White House

US President Joe Biden is hosting Jordan's King Abdullah II for a private lunch at the White House (on Thursday).


It's the King's third visit to the White House since Joe Biden took office and comes amid a deadly escalation in tensions between Israelis and Palestinians.

US Senator calls for Apple and Google to ban TikTok

The US Senator for Colorado is calling on Apple and Google to remove TikTok from their app stores.


Senator Michael Bennet sent a letter to the CEOs of both companies on Thursday, citing concerns about how the social media platform handles users' data.


The Chinese-owned app is facing increasing scrutiny over whether data could be shared with authorities in Beijing.


TikTok says concerns are largely driven by 'misinformation' about the company.

Israeli prime minister makes official trip to Paris

The Israeli prime minister is making an official trip to Paris for talks with Emmanuel Macron, in what is Benjamin Netanyahu's first visit to France since he was re-elected as Israel's premier late last year.

The two leaders are holding a working dinner at the Elysee Palace, the French presidential office and residence.

North Korea warns the U.S

North Korea has issued a statement, claiming the U.S presence in the
Korean peninsula is turning that area into a "critical war zone."

Shell announces record-breaking profits for 2022


UK-based oil giant Shell has reported record-breaking profits for 2022.

BANK OF ENGLAND RAISES INTEREST RATE TO 4%

The Bank of England has raised interest rates to a 14 year high. The Bank's Monetary Policy Committee agreed a 50 basis point hike, taking the base rate to 4%.

The Nigeria Human Rights Commission to Probe Abortion Allegations Against Military

SHELL REPORTS BUMPER PROFITS

Oil giant Shell has reported the biggest profit in its 115-year history, after the surge in prices following the invasion of Ukraine.

Shell's adjusted profits for last year were 32.2 billion pounds - $39.9bn.

That's double the figure for the year before.

US Defense Secretary to discuss access to military bases with Filipino president

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has arrived in the Philippines where he will meet with the country's president Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Markets reassured by slower rate hike

Markets rallied on Wednesday following comments from the Federal Reserve that inflation is falling.


The central bank announced it would raise interest rates by a quarter of a percentage point - a slower rise than throughout 2022.
