Biden visits US-Mexico border for first time since taking office

Joe Biden has visited the US-Mexico border for the first time since taking office on a visit to El Paso, Texas.

Last week the US president announced new measures to try and stem a record number of migrants trying to cross the border.

FDA approves Alzheimer's drug shown to slow disease progression

The Food and Drug Administration has granted fast-track approval for a new Alzheimer's drug - called lecanemab.

Clinical trials have shown that the drug can moderately slow the progression of the disease, but medical professionals are divided over its safety and how effective it actually is.

Major storms batter California

At least six people have died in storms that have caused flooding and damage throughout California.

US warship sails through Taiwan Strait, prompting criticism from Beijing

Tensions between the US and China are retching up after a US warship sailed through the sensitive Taiwan Strait on Thursday.

The transit has drawn the ire of Beijing, which says it remains on "high alert" and is ready to respond to "all threats and provocations."

Police officers and election workers honoured two years after January 6 Capitol attack

President Biden is honoring 12 people for their defense of the capitol and support of democracy, two years on from the January 6th U.S. Capitol attack.

US JOB NUMBERS REMAIN STEADY

Uganda Captures Suspected Allied Democratic Forces Rebel Commander
