SA President Ramaphosa in Washington to meet Biden at White House

The war in Ukraine and trade are expected to top the agenda when South African president Cyril Ramaphosa holds talks with US president Joe Biden in Washington later(Friday).


It will be Mr Ramaphosa's first visit to the White House and the first time that a South African president has been there since 2014.

Nigeria Grants Citizenship to 286 Foreign Nationals

Nigeria's President, Muhammadu Buhari has awarded the country's citizenship to 286 foreign nationals.

He says it's in accordance with the government's action plan to eradicate statelessness in the country by 2024, and promote oneness of the human race.

Uganda Protests EU Motion on Oil Pipeline

Leaders of China, Russia, India, Pakistan and others set to deepen ties at key summit

After a much-anticipated bilateral meeting between President Putin and President Xi Jinping on Thursday, at which the Russian leader acknowledged China had "concerns" about Ukraine, the two leaders will hold separate talks with other counterparts on Friday.

American railroad strike averted by last-gasp deal

Major US railroads and unions have secured a deal to avert a rail shutdown that could have hit food and fuel supplies across the country.

Xi and Putin hold meeting in Uzbekistan
