A UN representative is due to travel to the region to help establish a

US skeptical of Russia's vow to suspent attacks on Kyiv, Chernihiv

US officials are dismissing claims by the Kremlin that it's planning to scale back some military operations in Ukraine, saying the world should view Russia's plans as a "redeployment" not a "withdrawal".


Russia earlier said it will avoid a fresh military attack against the Ukrainian capital Kyiv and the northern city of Chernihiv, after negoatiations with the Ukrainians in Istanbul today appeared to make some progress.


At the White House, President Biden was wary about Moscow's claim.

Netherlands expels 17 Russian diplomats accused of spying

The Netherlands has expelled 17 Russian citizens it says were intelligence agents posing as diplomats.

Thousands of Congolese Refugees fleeing Fighting Cross into Uganda

Gunmen Attack Nigerian Passenger Train

Biden denies he's seeking "regime change" in Moscow, has no regrets over Saturday comment despite White House walkback

President Biden has insisted that he was not calling for "regime change" in Moscow when he said on Saturday that Russian President Vladimir Putin could not remain in power.


Mr. Biden told reporters he was simply expressing his personal moral outrage over the Russian leader's prosecution of the war in Ukraine.


The President said questions about his ad libbed comments at the end of his Warsaw speech were "ridiculous", and insisted he had done no damage to transatlantic relations with America's allies nor complicated the crisis.
