150 UK TROOPS TO POLAND BORDER

Around 150 British troops will be deployed to Poland's border with Belarus to help address the migrant crisis.

The Royal Engineers will help reinforce the border there.

Western governments have accused Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko of funnelling thousands migrants from the Middle East towards the EU border.

There's also growing concern in the region about a possible Russian invasion of Ukraine.

In a surprise move, India's Prime Minister announces repeal of three farm laws

India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced his government will repeal three controversial farm laws brought in last year.

For nearly a year now, Mr Modi's government has categorically refused to back down despite tens of thousands of farmers holding what has been the largest and the longest protest by farmers in recent history.

Death row inmate's execution halted at 11th hour

The governor of Oklahoma has granted clemency to Julius Jones, just hours before the death row inmate was scheduled to be executed.

Governor Kevin Stitt instead commuted Jones' sentence to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
