GHANA ON ALERT FOR EBOLA AND MARBURG VIRUS


Ghana says it is on high alert to prevent the outbreak of Ebola and the Marburg virus diseases in the country. It comes after its neighbors, Ivory Coast, recorded its first case of Ebola after 25 years- while Guinea also confirmed the Marburg virus disease two weeks ago.

Vaccine requirements begin in NYC

Starting today New Yorkers will require proof of a Covid-19

Biden remains at Camp David as Afghan crisis engulfs his Presidency

India begins evacuating nationals from Afghanistan

The Indian government has asked national carrier Air India to put two aircraft on standby for emergency evacuations from Kabul.

An Air India flight carrying 129 passengers arrived in Delhi from Kabul on Sunday evening. On board were several Indian citizens, Afghan nationals and Members of the Afghan Parliament. Another flight is expected to leave Kabul on Monday.

Taliban enters Kabul weeks before US military drawdown

The Taliban has breached Afghanistan's capital Kabul and the government has collapsed just weeks before the US is due to withdraw all its troops from the country.

In a joint statement the US State Department and the Department of Defense said over the next 48 hours, they will have expanded their security presence to nearly 6,000 troops to aid in the evacuation of  U.S. and allied personnel from Afghanistan via civilian and military flights.
