Day 5 of search for survivors in Miami building collapse

The search for survivors in the rubble of a partially collapsed apartment building near Miami is now in its fifth day.

9 people have been confirmed dead and more than 150 people are still missing.

152 people are still missing and at least nine people confirmed dead in Thursday’s partial building collapse in Miami, as hopes dim of finding more survivors in the rubble.

Search and rescue teams have been working round the clock, as new details emerge about the known structural damage to the apartment building in Surfside, just north of Miami Beach.

UK UNLOCKING UPDATE (MONDAY)

UK MPs will be updated later (Monday) on whether remaining covid-19 restrictions can be lifted from the English economy.

Newly-appointed Health Secretary Sajid Javid will update the Commons on whether England is still on track to fully reopen on July 19th.

He's expected to say an earlier easing for July 5th will not take place.

Covid cases are up nearly 60% week-on-week in the UK, but hospitalisations and deaths remain low due to vaccinations.

Chavin Sentenced to 22 and a half years
