DRC CHILD ABUSE

INTRO:

Grave violations against children have been recorded in the Democratic Republic of Congo and other countries experiencing conflict according to a new UN report.
The Children and Armed Conflict report says more than 19,000 children affected by war were sexually abused and recruited in militia groups last year.  Chris Ocamringa has more from Kinshasa.

Covid case means England football players put into self-isolation

Two England football players won't feature in tonight's (Tuesday's) European Championship fixture against the Czech Republic after they were forced to self-isolate. 


Ben Chilwell and Mason Mount came into close contact with Scotland's Billy Gilmour following Friday's game at Wembley Stadium. Gilmour later tested positive for Covid-19.

EU top court rule YouTube no liable for copyright breaches

Europe's top court has ruled that online platforms like YouTube are not liable for content illegally posted by users.

The ruling comes amid calls by regulators and privacy activists for online platforms to do more to remove illegal and hateful content from their sites.

UEFA rejects plans for rainbow light display at GER v HUN game

UEFA has rejected a proposal from Munich City Hall to light up Allianz Arena in special colours in support of LGBTI rights. 

City authorities were planning to use Wednesday's Euros' match between Germany and Hungary as an opportunity to protest new laws passed by the Hungarian Parliament but football's governing body stepped in to stop the plans.

NO DATE FOR UK TRAVEL EASING

The UK government says it can't put a date on when international travel will be opened up more to people who've received two vaccine doses.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock's confirmed he's in favour of the plan.

It would see people who've had two jabs able to travel to countries rated Green and Amber on the UK's traffic light system - without needing to quarantine on their return.

But Matt Hancock isn't giving any guidance on when it might kick in.

Wales worried over 3rd Covid-19 wave as Delta variant spreads

Cases of the Delta coronavirus variant are on the rise in Wales.


Around 600 of the country's citizens have been infected by the strain first discovered in India.


The number of cases is causing concern, and experts are unsure whether the increase could result in an increased number of hospitalisations.
