UK ECONOMY WORST HIT IN DEVELOPED WORLD BY COVID-19

The UK is likely to suffer the worst economic damage from the Covid-19 crisis of any country in the developed world according a new forecast. 


A leading think-tank, the OECD, predicts that the British economy will shrink by 11.5% during 2020, outstripping the falls in France, Italy, Spain and Germany.

Swedish authorities close case into death of former PM in 1986

Swedish prosecutors have named the man they say killed the country's Prime Minister in 1986. 

Olof Palme was shot dead 34 years ago in central Stockholm. 

Authorities say his killer was graphic designer Stig Engstrom, who took his own life in the year 2000.

Moscow recorded nearly 6,000 excess May deaths
