Convalescent plasma trial prompts treatment optimism

A U.S. study has found using plasma from COVID-19 survivors' blood
could be an effective way to treat patients to lessen the severity of

Children affected by rare disease potentially linked to coronavirus

Scores of European and American children are being affected by a rare inflammatory disease which may be linked to coronavirus.


In a small number of children, it can cause serious complications, with some needing intensive care.


Up to 100 children in the UK have been diagnosed, and studies suggest the same reaction is being seen elsewhere across the continent.

UK IN TALKS TO PURCHASE ANTIBODY TEST

England's public health body has approved an antibody test, which will tell people whether they have previously been infected with coronavirus.

The UK Government is now in talks with the maker of the test, Swiss pharmaceutical company, Roche, to purchase them.

S. Koreans on edge over latest infection cluster in Seoul

In South Korea, people in the capital Seoul are on edge as the number of coronavirus cases grows from an outbreak linked to several nightclubs. The government is trying to track anyone that may have hit the clubs to try and bring the infection cluster under control.

Indian Army proposes a three-year voluntary service to attract youths

The Indian Army is considering allowing civilians to voluntarily join the force for three years as part of a model called the "Tour of Duty".

'RELIABLE' ANTIBODY TEST APPROVED IN ENGLAND

Health officials in England have given approval to an antibody test to show if people have previously had Covid19.

It's being described as a 'very positive development' by the UK's testing co-ordinator Professor John Newton.

Many home-bound migrant workers die in road accidents in India

Several migrant labourers have died in India while attempting to get back to their villages in the midst of a nationwide lockdown.

EU unveils plans to reboot tourism and travel sector

The EU has set out its plans to reopen the travel and tourism business this summer.
