UK EXTENDS FURLOUGH SCHEME

The UK's furlough scheme will be extended to October.

It allows those out of work to have 80% of their salaries paid for by the government, up to $3000.

But with the announcement of the extension, also came the news that businesses will have to start contributing from August.

China announces tariff waivers for slew of U.S. goods

China has announced that 79 products from the United States are
eligible for waivers from tariffs.

Brussels Airlines to cut 25% of workforce

Bars and restaurants to reopen in Italy from May 18th

Bars, restaurants, hairdressers and beauticians will reopen across Italy from next week. 

The reopening of some of the hospitality sector was planned for June 1st, but has been brought forward to due pressure from regional leaders.

UK SETS OUT GUIDANCE FOR RE-OPENING WORKPLACES

The UK government has published new guidance for workplaces to become 'Covid Secure' so some employees can return to their jobs.

The UK is now encouraging people who can't work from home to go back to work if it's safe to do so.

Britain's lockdown restrictions have been extended, but Prime Minister Boris Johnson wants more companies to reopen while following existing guidelines.

Employers will have to carry out risk assessments before they open their doors.
