CNN, Daily NK report Kim Jong-un's health questionable

Media outlets are now reporting that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un may be seriously ill. Last week, he didn't appear at events marking his grandfather and North Korean founder Kim Il-sung's birthday.

Bruce Harrison reports from Seoul.

The South Korean government has said it has no official comment about the news reports.

CNN and a South Korean-based outlet called Daily NK have both reported Kim Jong-un underwent surgery.

CNN cited a U.S. official saying Kim may be in 'grave danger' after the procedure.

The Daily NK said Kim had some kind of cardiovascular surgery and had mostly recovered.

But the online portal also said it couldn't verify that information ... saying it's based on a single source inside North Korea.

Kim did not attend birthday celebrations on April 15th for his late grandfather.

According to Bloomberg News, Seoul's Unification Ministry said it's inappropriate to speculate on why Kim didn't appear at the birthday events.
