Premier League clubs committed to completing season, but with no date set

Premier League football teams in England are still committed to finishing the 92 outstanding fixtures of the current season, despite the suspension of play since mid-March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

 

However, clubs insist that "all dates are tentative," and there isn't a firm deadline in place to resume games.

New York expands face covering guidelines

The governor of New York Andrew Cuomo has signed an executive order

Democrats criticize Trump reopening plan as deaths rise

German Health Minister: Coronavirus crisis now ‘manageable’

German health minister Jens Spahn [YENS SHPAWN] called the coronavirus crisis "manageable" as the country prepares to relax some of its restrictions beginning Monday.

Millions of Americans without government checks because of glitches

Millions of Americans are yet to receive their stimulus checks from the government because of glitches in the system.


The money - part of a $2 trillion financial relief package - was supposed to arrive in people's bank accounts on Wednesday but several million people are still waiting.

Small Business Relief Fund Out of Money

A 350 billion dollar relief fund for small businesses hurt by the coronavirus is out of money. 

The Small Business Administration is not accepting any more lenders or applications.

UK LOCKDOWN EXTENDED

The UK's coronavirus lockdown will remain in place for at least another three weeks.

UK refusing to extend Brexit transition period, despite coronavirus

The UK will not extend the Brexit transition period, according to the British government's chief negotiator. 

 

On Thursday, David Frost tweeted that the phase will conclude on 31st December this year, and if the EU requests an extension, the UK will say no.

99-year-old British war veteran raises millions for the NHS

A 99-year-old war veteran has walked 100 laps of his garden to raise more than £12m ($15m) for the UK's national health service.

 

Captain Tom Moore originally wanted to raise £1,000 for NHS Charities Together by completing the challenge before his 100th birthday.

 

But he smashed his target after about 620,000 people made donations to his fundraising page.

Germany becomes latest country to begin to release lockdown

Germany has announced it will start easing lockdown measures, with some shops under a certain size allowed to reopen next week.

Schools can reopen on May 4th, but bars and restaurants will remain closed.  Mass gatherings banned until at least August 31st
