South Korea has confirmed hundreds of news cases of the coronavirus, bringing the total in the country to nearly 16-hundred.

President Trump appoints Mike Pence to lead Coronavirus response

President Trump has appointed Vice President Mike Pence to lead the government's coronavirus taskforce.

He made the announcement at a news conference on Wednesday.

Lawyers say Weinstein is upbeat despite conviction

European ministers refuse to close borders despite Italian spike in cases

European countries have said they will keep borders open, despite a continued rise in coronavirus cases in Italy outside of the northern Lombardy region. 

Italy has seen the largest number of cases outside of Asia, with 322 infections and 11 deaths.

EU signs off negotiating mandate to allow UK trade talks to begin on March 2nd
