AUSTRALIA: Veteran's organisation reverses decision on Ode to Remembrance

The outrage over the Western Australian branch of the Returned Services League has triggered an about face from the veteran support organisation.
Last week the RSL declared that the Ode of Remembrance was no longer permitted to be delivered in any other language than English on Anzac Day, Australia and New Zealand's most solemn day for veterans.

International Mining Conference calls for strong policies and regulations

An International Minerals and Mining Investment Conference has concluded in Dar es Salaam.

Jury in Weinstein case appear deadlocked on most serious charges

The jury in the rape trial of Harvey Weinstein appears to be
deadlocked on the most serious charges that he is facing and have now
gone four days without a verdict.

During Friday's deliberations the jury sent a note to the judge asking
for clarification on what happens should they be unable to reach a
consensus.

The trial is seen as a landmark moment for the MeToo movement.

EU budget battle continues into second day

European leaders are meeting for the second day in Brussels to try and reach a deal on the EU's budget, amid deep divisions on the bloc's long-term spending plans. 

Brexit has resulted in a budget shortfall of as much as €75billion over the next seven years.

Lawyers claim Trump offered to pardon Assange

A London court has heard that US President Donald Trump offered to pardon WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange if he said Russia was not involved in leaking emails during the 2016 US election.
