Kremlin critic’s foundation branded ‘foreign agent’

Russia's Anti-Corruption Foundation has been blacklisted by the Justice Ministry as a 'foreign agent'. The non-profit organisation is affiliated with Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny and its staff were involved in a series of protests in Moscow this summer. Julia Chapman has more.

AUSTRALIA: Foreign Minister concerned about rescue of Australian women and children from Syria

Australian Foreign Minister Marise Payne says extracting Australian women and children from camps in Syria is a dangerous, complex and time-consuming task.

Nigerian president presents record $34 billion budget for 2020



President Muhammadu Buhari has presented his proposal for Nigeria's 2020 budget to a joint session of the National Assembly in Abuja. The bill estimated at $34 billion is the highest ever in the country's history.

BREXIT TALKSS CONTINUE DESPITE PESSIMISM

Brexit talks continue between the UK and EU despite what Ireland describes as 'big gaps' between the two sides.

On Tuesday the UK government briefed that German Chancellor Angela Merkel had signaled a position which made a Brexit deal almost impossible.

And Irish leader Leo Varadkar says it will be 'very difficult' for a deal to be reached ahead of October 31st.

However, he's due to hold face-to-face talks with UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson later this week.

Extinction Rebellion Protesters Block Berlin Bridge

Hundreds of climate activists in Berlin have occupied a bridge near Chancellor Angela Merkel's office as protests continue for a third straight day.

Russia calls for caution in Syria

Russia says it was not informed in advance by the United States or by Turkey about America's plans to pull back some troops from Syria's northeastern border.

White House withdraws all co-operation from impeachment probe sparking Constitutional standoff

The White House says it won't co-operate with the Democrats impeachment investigation of President Trump, describing it as an attempt to overturn the result of the 2016 Presidential election.


The move came shortly after President Trump moved to block the US Ambassador to the EU from testifying on Capitol Hill about the President's communications with Ukraine.
