Robert Mueller contradicts President Trump in Congress, saying investigation did not exonerate him


U.S. President Donald Trump says it's been a "devastating day" for Democrats after Robert Mueller's marathon testimony in Congress.

The former special counsel, though, publicly contradicted President Trump's claim that the Mueller report was a total exoneration for him.

European politicians warn of increased no-deal Brexit risk

The European Parliament's Brexit Steering Group says the risk of a no-deal Brexit has increased because of the UK leadership contest.

The politicians believe there is still time to find an agreement before the October 31st deadline but the UK must ensure EU citizens rights, that the Irish border remains unchanged and that the divorce payment is paid. 

The group says if all three of those things happen then they can re-work the second part of the deal.

No girls born in over 100 Indian villages in three months

Indian officials have launched a probe to determine whether sex-selective abortions were conducted in 132 villages where not a single girl child was born in the last three months.

India's sex ration has been on the decline in recent years, dropping to 896 females to 1000 males in 2015-2017 from 943 in 2011.

France to extend IVF access to all women

The French government has proposed allowing single women and lesbian couples access to IVF, and giving the children of sperm donors access to information about their biological fathers, neither of which is currently possible in France.

Deutsche Bank posts $3.5 billion loss for quarter

Troubled German lender Deutsche Bank reported a loss of three and a half billion US dollars in the second quarter, a worse result than expected.
