A cross-party group of British MPs have met with the EU's chief negotiator Michel Barnier to call for UK citizens' rights to be protected in the event of a no-deal Brexit.
Outside the EU Commission the emergency task force said the 5 million EU and UK nationals living abroad should not be "collateral damage" for "our failure in Britain to agree a deal."

Concerns over extremism are being voiced by the UK's Home Secretary Sajid Javid, who is calling for better integration and for public figures to moderate their extremist language.
This, at a time following US President Donald Trump's twitter remarks, telling congresswomen to go back to the countries they originally came from.

The Dutch supreme court has upheld a ruling that the Netherlands was partially responsible for 350 deaths in Bosnia's Srebrenica massacre.
The court said the state had 10% liability, as this was the probability that its soldiers could have prevented the killings.
Bosnian Serb forces killed a total of 8,000 Muslim men in the town of Srebrenica in 1995.

The G7's finance ministers have agreed, at a summit in Chantilly in norther France, to fix a minimum rate of corporate tax for digital giants like Facebook and Google, in order to fight tax evasion.
But they haven't yet agreed on what that rate should be.

A new report suggests a no-deal Brexit is likely to plunge the UK into recession next year.
The chances of leaving the EU without a deal have risen significantly, since both candidates vying for the role of Prime Minister when Theresa May steps down next week have said they'd be willing to leave the bloc without a deal.
