282 people arrested as Algerian football fans celebrate in France

At least 282 people have been arrested in France after Algeria beat Nigeria 2-1 in the Africa Cup of Nations semi-final. 

Loud street celebrations which lasted until the early morning turned violent in several French cities.

It follows similar scenes on Thursday when Algeria was victorious in the previous round of the competition.

Police arrest 25 in Moscow protests

Police in Moscow detained dozens of protesters during a rally against a possible ban on opposition candidates competing in upcoming city elections.
