French President prepares for national debate broadcast

French President Emmanuel Macron is due to reveal his plans for dealing with the Yellow Vest crisis in a TV address on Thursday. 

The speech had been scheduled to take place last week but was cancelled at the last minute due to the fire at Notre Dame Cathedral. 

President Macron will announce a reform plan following the end of a nationwide debate called after weeks of violent protests.

Interpol Rescue Nigeria


Intro

A global police organisation INTERPOL, have rescued at least 216 persons from being trafficked into prostitution and forced labour in Nigeria and Benin republic.
 
According to United Nations, Nigeria is one of the worst affected African countries of human trafficking including cross-border and internal trafficking.

Bayer announces more Glyphosate lawsuits

Climate protesters in London are targeting the city's financial districts.

The London Stock Exchange has been blockaded, and a group of demonstrators have also climbed onto a train in the Canary Wharf area.

It's due to be the final day of protest action that's been taking place since 15th April.

Over 1000 people have been arrested in total.

Facebook Expects Record Data Fine, Up to $5bn

Trump Pressures Mexico Over Migrants

US President Donald Trump has again threatened to close part of the US border with Mexico, and send more armed soldiers to the border, if Mexico does not do more to stop undocumented migrants travelling to the US.

India warned Sri Lanka of attack hours before first blast

Indian intelligence officers contacted their Sri Lankan counterparts two hours before the first attack on Easter Sunday, warning them of a specific threat to churches, according to sources.

Sri Lanka's Prime Minister has admitted that the officials in the country failed to respond in time to intelligence on the attack.

The coordinated attacks have claimed 359 lives with more than 500 people wounded.

UK Government gives go-ahead to Huawei for non-core 5G infrastructure


The UK Government has given the green light for Chinese telecommunications company Huawei to supply some equipment needed for the country's 5G data network rollout.


The move is a controversial one, with suggestions that the equipment could pose a security risk. But the British government will reportedly only use Huawei infrastructure for non-core technology.

Uganda Storm Kills 18

CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE IMAGES

Almost half of all child sexual abuse imagery reported to the Internet Watch Foundation in 2018 were discovered in the Netherlands.


In it's annual report the organisation says over 100,000 web addresses were hosting illegal images last year.

Death toll rises following suicide bombings in Sri Lanka

Putin, Kim to hold first summit in Vladivostok on Thursday

Russia has confirmed that President Vladimir Putin will be meeting North Korean leader Kim Jong-un this Thursday. It will be their first meeting and comes as North Korean talks with the U.S. falter.
