Paris police chief sacked after violent protests
Paris' police chief has been sacked as the government moves to take a tougher line on violent protests.
Police were caught out by unexpectedly violent protests on Saturday, when « yellow vests » vandalized shops and set fire to a bank.

Russian human rights campaigner sentenced
A prominent human rights campaigner in the Russian region of Chechnya has been sentenced to four years in a penal colony.
Campaign groups say the charges were bogus and aimed at suppressing their work.

Police are searching for 37-year-old Gökeman Tanis in connection to a fatal shooting in the Dutch city of Utrecht.
